Just one of those whole days you want to be someplace else, just something different. These are the times I wish I was back in Paris walking around just taking it all in, finding something new. To fee like a weight was taken off my shoulders. Miss sitting in the park and just letting things go by an watching them.

Oh well on to the next day.

Class

Was doing good till got to accounting class and started nodding like crazy..instructor nice enough not to say anything lol...but still wishing to be at that cafe eating those lamb chops and potatoes that I have as my profile pic...damn they were good.

Again

Seemed lik clock work yet again up at 3am. And now have two hours before my alarm goes off and I am up for the day filled with classes. Wide awake sucks right now. So will attempt to close eyes for a nap at this point and wait for the alarm to go off.

Late night

There were nights that still had me up while I was on the trip. Flipping through the channels to watch something in English or a show I could get through with my rough understanding of French lol.
To me the nights were just to cold to hang out away from the hotel. And the one I stayed was right on the banks of the Seine (left side). Which was so cool and a 15-20 min walk up to the Iron Lady, which again is great at anytime of year.
I tried taking a pic from my window at night of the top portion of the tower but the flash would always go off. But I can remember how it looked even now, the lights changing colors (sort of a nightly show until midnight). Was even better to see during that snow storm that begun before I was due to come home the next morning. The city did look great from the view I had from my window.

Chilly

Was out earlier and damned if it didn't remind of the week in Paris...lol. Bundled up and still went out. Took a cab a few times to get to Sacre Coeur and to the Louvre, when it was just to cold to walk there. Sacre Coeur that is on the other side of the city and hill central, so there would be no uphill for me, not that crazy.
That was the day it snowed that Monday morning, but it was a dusting so melted away by 10 am. But COLD AS HELL the whole day.
Has a wonderful view of the city no matter what time of year you may be in Paris.

New year, some things don't change.

Up late and surfing the net and always end up back in Paris like clock work. My last trip was last December 2010 in the middle of the worst winter storm. Did not know before I left it was going to happen. This was a treat for myself, my birthday was in December was celebrating my retirement from the U.S.Army after 25 years and needed to get away. And Paris no matter is my happy place.
So I can honestly say I have spent all four seasons in Paris at some point in time from my very first trip in late 1991 on a class trip with The Restaurant School (that's when I fell hard for Paris), then my tour in Germany I would take the long weekends hop the train and head for Paris (employee discount was a wonderful thing, help cut cost of hotel stay big time). Think I went 4 times while I was in Germany.
So although last winter 2010 was not the best I still made the best of it for me. My list of places still to visit is still growing. Especially after a report I did back in my first term last October 2011 back at The Restaurant School (going for my BS). My report on Alexadre Dumas and that his homes were open to the public, so you know at some point I will be going back to Paris.
Well seems I have not written this much online about anything like I just have. Some would say good therapy for me as its the happy thing I love that's all mine.
So will be adding to the list of what to see in the 20 districts of my happy place Paris.
